The Dreamland Optimist Club of Birch Hills presents "Mardi Gras Blues Night" at the Birch Hills Civic Centre on November 14, 2015.

Cocktails at 6 pm, 

Mardi Gras Buffet Supper starts at 7 pm 

Dance starts at 9 pm.

Taking Steps Toward a Cure - Get Moving for the CCC

Optimist International will be hosting an organization-wide walk to promote childhood cancer awareness and raise much needed funds. All Clubs are asked to sponsor a CCC Walk during June, Optimist International Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. This show of unified support will demonstrate the organization's mission to "be the leading force to rid the world of childhood cancer."

June is a short two months away. Has your Club started to plan your CCC Walk? "Have a heart, do your part!" Start organizing your Club's walk to raise awareness and funds for a good cause. For information visit the CCC Walk section of the Optimist website.

Optimist Festive Showcase Concert

The Optimist Club of Calgary has been presenting the “Optimist Festive Showcase” annually for a number of years. The Showcase has become an anticipated event, leading up to Christmas. The Showcase provides an opportunity for a number of local groups to perform for their families and the public in a premier facility. The Optimist club of Calgary has supported some of the groups in the past. These groups are now helping the Optimist Club of Calgary raise funds by performing in the Showcase.

A Skate Park For Penhold Youth @ Aviva Community Fund

 

Congratulations to the Penhold and District Optimist Club for your project making it to the semi-finals of the competition.  Voting started on December 2nd, and they need all of our help for them to make it to the finals.  We encourage all Optimists in the District to take the time to vote daily for this project!

Golfing in the Dark

The St. Albert Breakfast Optimist Club in partnership with the St. Albert Youth Community Centre will be holding a fun night of golf at the Terra Pines Golf & Country Club on Friday evening, September 12, 2010.  We hope to raise in excess of $5000 to support the St. Albert Youth Community Centre.  Additional funds will be used to finance the many Optimist youth programs that are planned for the coming year.

All Optimist golfers are invited to participate and we encourage you to invite any avid golfers that you know who would like to engage in a fun evening of neon golf.  See Golfing in the Dark for more details.
